From our LEED Gold certified corporate headquarters to on-site recycling programs, Mesirow Financial is committed to incorporating environmental concerns into our corporate strategy. In addition to these top-down efforts, the firm supports diverse employee-led initiatives spearheaded by our Going Green committee, a group of employees with a demonstrated passion for helping us all reduce our environmental impact, both at work and at home.
The Going Green committee continuously seeks ways to be more environmentally responsible and organizes both on-going and one-off recycling/reuse collections, educational seminars and other events. Some successes include expanding our recycling capabilities and education, providing reusable kitchen items and utilizing partially recycled paper for mass presentations. In 2008, we welcomed an environmental not-for-profit organization to our workplace giving program, providing employees the opportunity to use payroll deductions to donate funds to further their mission of protecting northeast Illinois’ natural and open spaces.
