NEW YORK, April 14, 2008 — Mesirow Financial today announced that it has promoted several key professionals in Mesirow Financial Consulting, LLC ("MFC"), effective April 1, 2008, in recognition of the significant value they have provided to the firm and to clients. The promotion of these talented professionals reflects the firm's continued growth and its leadership in the financial advisory services marketplace.
Ben Pickering, 43, has been promoted from managing director to senior managing director. Based in New York, he has been integral in the firm's corporate recovery practice, specializing in a number of industries including automotive, steel, metals, manufacturing, food processing, financial services, retail, transportation and trucking, and telecommunications. He holds over 15 year's experience, including considerable expertise with cross-border engagements. Pickering currently represents constituents in numerous out-of-court and Chapter 11 matters including Delphi Corporation, Fedders Corporation, Quebecor World (USA) Inc., and Plastech Engineered Products.
Kristin Winford, 35, promoted from senior vice president to managing director, has been with the firm for nine years, including tenure served with KPMG's U.S. Corporate Recovery Practice prior to its acquisition by Mesirow Financial in 2004. Winford is the National Operations director for Mesirow Financial Consulting and provides overall facilitation and support for the people management and operating functions of the firm, including: strategic planning and budgeting, financial management, resource deployment and management, sales and marketing, information technology, research, performance management and rewards, employee matters, recruiting, culture and retention, knowledge management, communications, change management and learning and professional growth. Resident in MFC's Phoenix office, she has responsibility for MFC operations nationwide.
Krysten Thomas, 31, promoted from vice president to senior vice president, has participated in critical leadership roles in the firm's largest creditor committee engagements, including Delphi Corporation, Plastech Engineered Products and Quebecor World (USA) Inc. and also led the diligence efforts for a firm equity investment of a distressed retail concern. Her accomplishments include recent Series 7 and CIRA certifications.
