Mesirow Financial Promotes Norman D. Schlismann to Senior Managing Director of Investment Advisory

CHICAGO, February 26, 2008 — Mesirow Financial today announced the promotion of Norman D. Schlismann (51) to senior managing director of its Investment Advisory group. Schlismann's promotion reflects his accomplishments as branch manager for the firm's Chicago and Oakbrook Investment Advisory offices.

"Norm has provided strong leadership for our investment advisors in both Chicago and Oakbrook as we have transitioned our business to an Investment Advisory platform," said Julie Vander Weele, senior managing director of the firm and head of the Investment Advisory division. "He has led by example and provides excellent support to our investment advisors in developing and building their business."

With nearly 30 years of experience in the investment advisory and financial services industry, Schlismann specializes in portfolio construction, asset allocation as well as money manager and mutual fund selection. In addition to his various management positions throughout his career, Schlismann has served on a variety of advisory committees relating to improving client satisfaction, technology and training in the industry.

Schlismann is an active board member for the Children's Memorial Hospital Corporate Champions board. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a bachelor of science degree in finance. He is a long-time resident of Frankfort, Ill.
