Richard S. Price Named Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mesirow Financial

CHICAGO, March 18, 2011 – Mesirow Financial today announced that Richard S. Price, president and chief operating officer, has been named chairman and chief executive officer of the firm. He succeeds James C. Tyree, who passed away on March 16, 2011. Price has been functioning in this capacity for several months, and has worked alongside Tyree in the strategic planning and execution of the firm's operations since becoming chief operating officer in 2006, assuring a smooth transition.

With nearly 40 years of financial services experience, Price is a well-known and highly regarded professional in the industry and has worked closely with Tyree for 30 years in firm-wide roles, including overseeing the firm's Infrastructure departments. Price joined Mesirow Financial in 1972, and has been president of Mesirow Insurance Services since 1982. Under his leadership, Mesirow Financial has evolved to become one of the largest independent insurance agencies in Chicago and is ranked among the top 30 in the country. Price has been a member of the firm's board of directors since 1987 and a vice chairman since 2001.

Price has taken a leadership role in community organizations for many years, including the Foundation Fighting Blindness, the Israel Sport Center for the Disabled, The Children's Place Association and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Chicago. He also actively supports Michael Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, among others.
