Michael Breen is a vice president in Mesirow Financial’s Wealth Advisors group. He specializes in creating customized financial plans, cash flow analyses, retirement plans and social security solutions for affluent individuals, foundations and business owners.
Prior to joining Mesirow Financial in 2014, Michael was an associate analyst at Cross Keys Capital, LLC, building extensive experience in the mergers and acquisitions market. Before that, he was the Associate Director of Camp Timberlane for five years.
Michael was the recipient of the William Jennings Bryan Prize – the highest distinction awarded to a student by the political science department at the University of Michigan. He was also a semi-finalist of the Hopwood Award, a nationally-renowned writing contest at the University of Michigan. He has authored three novels and is currently working on the fourth.
Michael is the Treasurer of Camp for All Kids, a not-for-profit organization that sends underprivileged children to summer camp. Michael was a camper, counselor, and director of Camp Timberlane for 18 years – one of the founding member camps of Camp for All Kids.
Michael earned an MBA from the University of Chicago – Booth School of Business and a BA in political science from the University of Michigan. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.
Michael is an active traveler, having enjoyed adventures in 70 countries across six continents.
