Dan Howell is a senior managing director in Mesirow Financial’s Private Equity group. He is involved in all aspects of the private equity investment process, including investment sourcing, selection and monitoring and is a member of the Private Equity Investment Committee. He specializes in later-stage venture capital and equity expansion financings.
Dan joined Mesirow Financial in 1986, and has been in the private equity industry since 1980. Over his career, he has invested directly in over 80 companies and has served on the boards of directors of more than 30 private and public companies.
Dan is a member of the investment committee for the Lawrence University endowment and a board member for the Youth Job Center of Evanston. He served as president of the Chicago chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth from 2010 to 2011 and currently serves as a board member.
Dan earned a BA from Lawrence University and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
