Bruce Young serves as a vice chairman of Mesirow Financial, chief executive officer of Capital Markets and executive managing director in Mesirow Financial’s Institutional Sales and Trading group. He is responsible for product development, marketing and sales serving a broad range of institutional clients including insurance companies, banks, pension funds and money managers. Bruce is also responsible for managing the firm’s position inventories and the hedging of risk associated with those positions. He is a member of the firm’s Board of Directors.
Bruce has more than 46 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Mesirow Financial in 1994, he served as vice chairman and then president of Rodman & Renshaw, a New York stock exchange firm. He subsequently founded Young Capital Group, an institutional sales and trading firm with offices in Chicago, Illinois and Greenwich, Connecticut.
In an industry capacity, Bruce is a member of the regional firm’s committee of SIFMA. He is past vice chairman of the conduct committee for FINRA District 8 and a past board member of the Chicago Stock Exchange, the North American Company for Life and Health Insurance and the Chicago Bond Club Board of Governors.
Bruce is on the Leadership Board for the Kovler Diabetes Center. He is a past board member of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, past dinner chairman for the Financial Services Division of the Jewish United Fund, past board member of the Lookingglass Theatre and former director of Roosevelt University board of trustees. He currently serves on the board of the 800 N. Michigan Condominium Association.
Bruce earned a BA from Roosevelt University. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 53 and 63 licenses.
Bruce is an avid tennis player and Chicago Bears fan.
