Mesirow Financial High Yield Fund

Strategy Overview

Objective

The Mesirow Financial High Yield Fund (the “High Yield Fund” or the “Fund”) seeks to provide a high level of current income consistent with the preservation of principal.

Process Highlights

  • The Fund generally takes diversified positions in the securities of corporations whose debt is rated below investment grade (approximately 80%) with an emphasis on smaller issues (below $500mm) that are typically issued by small-to-mid capitalization companies.
  • The Fund may invest the remainder of the portfolio in other investment grade instruments.
  • The Fund employs a value-oriented investment style that emphasizes top-down industry selection followed by rigorous bottom-up security selection.
  • Target investments are those that have individual yield premiums which appear to be favorable and are viewed as having a comparable or lower probability of default and/or loss risk.
  • Benchmark is the Bloomberg Barclays U.S. Corporate High-Yield Index.

Changes in market value of fund securities and those securities related derivatives may not be proportionate. Derivatives are subject to illiquidity and counterparty risk.
